BCI EVENTS
BCI October 2009 Issue
Welcome to the October issue of BCI (Brisbane Creative Industries)!
September has been an absolutely huge month for the Brisbane events calendar and I expect October to be the same too. Every month I surprise myself as to how far this eNews has gone, in fact, check out what I had in store for the June 2009 (yes, this year!) eNews. The same thing for Brisbane Creative Industries as we push on ahead only 6 months after Roundhouse
got on board to develop the .com and design.
I am finishing this eNews off after spending a full day with a group of young and innovative people and other guests in a forum called Engage Me. I figure to copy and paste the questions that this forum has addressed in this month's eNews for you to think about:
What are ways young leaders and social entrepreneurs are working to make a difference in our communities?
How are they engaging and working with people differently both on-line and off-line?
How do we invite people in to participate and engage with us in making a difference?
How can we build identity and ownership within our community groups and social change initiatives?
How do we build momentum and maximise our impact?
And how do we build our influence in and with the broader community?
We hope that you enjoy what is in store with Brisbane Creative Industries!

A Kick In the Arts // The End of Funding?
Funding in non-profits have gone archaic, it is difficult to talk about the arts without mentioning the word funding. 300 years before the notion of contemporary funding, it was arts entrepreneurs who risked it. Click here
My Brisbane Writers Festival experience by Foluke Abigail Zrobok
My love affair with words began at a very young age, I don't know if it was my dog-eared copy of Oliver Twist or my well-thumbed collection of Enid Blyton books that cemented my love of words and writing, what I do know is that 20 years later, I'm still in awe of the written word. More

I caught IxDA in Cloudland for a bit to talk more about IxDA! Click here
